When it was time for her to leave, I went to put something in her bag and found a ton of MY stuff in there! She made up a lame excuse that "someone else" must have put it in her bag. I knew she was lying, and I told her whoever put it there had better speak up and I wouldn't be mad if -they confessed but she still denied it. How do I confront her and still keep our friendship? Confused in Great Falls, Mont. Dear Confused: You have already "confronted" her, and it only led to more lies. Vivian in Colonial Beach, Via. Dear Vi DEAR ABBY Advice vian: According to the Census Bureau figures for 2004 which are the most recent there are 36.7 million mothers of minor children in the United States. About one-third of them, 10.8 million, are stay-at-home moms.
According to an article penned by Al Neuharth, the founder of USA Today, in its May 11, 2006, edition, "Salary.com compensation experts estimate that stay-at-home moms work an average of 91.6 hours a week." That's more than double the number of hours the average office worker puts in. He went on to say, "That should be worth $134,121 annually." He quoted the compensation analysts as figuring the lowest-paying parts of a mother's job are "housekeeper, laundry machine operator and janitor. a jaaa at Treatment for many with Female co-anchors to give 'GIV1A' a different look son ot yours that $28.16 an hour is a real Don't feel rejected if he doesn't reply Dear Abby: I am going through a divorce. It's not that I did not love my al-(most-ex, but that he was never someone I could depend on emotionally or financially. I'm writing to you because I have become very interested in someone who is dependable and caring, and over the past year I have found we have a lot in common.
He is my kids' doctor. I haven't dated anyone except my husband since I was 18, let alone talked to a guy. So I sent him a letter at his office, and am now having regrets that I did because of the fear of rejec- tion. I must face him again in three weeks. The letter was written with only my e-mail address.
I just don't know what to do! I really like this man, and I'm scared to death he'll be upset that I sent the letter. Please help. Mommy in Indiana Dear Mommy: The doctor won't be "upset." He will probably be complimented. He may, however, already be married, involved with someone, or gay so if cure depression are also possible. There are medicines to counter some of these side effects, and sometimes the side effects diminish with continued use.
Ribavirin can produce cough, shortness of breath, anemia and weight loss, but fewer react to it the way they do to interferon. There is no good substitute for either. Maybe you don't need treatment. The indications for it are elevated blood levels of liver enzymes, along with scarring and inflammation seen on a liver biopsy. Without treatment, the odds of decent health are still in your favor unless your liver biopsy shows severe changes.
Even then, abstinence from alcohol spares the liver from increased destruction, and possibility of a liver transplant can be entertained if such becomes necessary. You won't get smallpox again Dear Dr. Donohue: My sister and I both had smallpox when we were young. I am 83. We were told that you never get it again.
Doctors now tell me that's wrong. Is it? B.F. Answer: You won't ever get smallpox again. It's been wiped off the face of the earth although the virus still exists, locked up in a few laboratories. When it was given, the smallpox vaccine did a good job of preventing smallpox altogether and making it a much less formidable illness if it was caught.
I believe you can safely say the same for a smallpox infection. (This is theoretical now. It's not going to happen.) "We were very close," said White, recalling how she and husband Allen Ludden cheered Moore on behind the scenes during the program's early years. We sweated out the pilot, and we would go to tapings and we would pull for her. Before you start preparing for the apocalypse, rest assured that the gals will be joined by a male news reader, and weatherguy. Both positions are open. Even with two men on the set, some viewers will find it difficult to accept two women in power positions particularly in morning TV, where the on-air ensemble historically resembles mom and pop and the kids. "It's hard to escape that traditional model," says Suzanna Walters, head of the department of gender studies at Indiana University. "We're still a nation threatened by women in leadership positions.
It stands to reason that TV would be the same." NBC's "Today," No. 1 for a person who may have some severe emotional problems. Under the circumstances, it's time to reevaluate your relationship, because I'm not sure you should consider her a friend any longer. P.S. I took the medicine as prescribed and headed to the dentist's office. While driving, I experienced dizziness, and my vehicle hit a tree beside the road. I was taken by rescue squad to the emergency room, where numerous tests were done. I was later released. They told me I had an allergic reaction to the Keflex, a penicillin-type dug.
I did have itchy, red fingers during the ambulance trip. What can I do to be safe in the future? My doctor has changed the medicine to clindamycin. B.M. Answer: People who have leaky or narrowed heart valves, artificial heart valves or artificial joints take antibiotics before dental procedures that cause bleeding. Mouth bacteria can get into the blood and find a safe haven on such valves or joints.
Keflex has a chemical structure similar to that of penicillin, so allergy to one often means allergy to the other. Clindamycin is a perfectly acceptable substitute. You should not suffer a reaction to it. Dr. Paul G.

And though White did not portray a major character, she certainly had her impact, particularly with Moore. hepatitis Dear Dr. Donohue: In 2000, 1 found out I have hepatitis C.
I was a drug user in the past and could have gotten it from sharing needles. Since my diagnosis, I notice that my skin is darker, and I have lost most of my hair. I sometimes feel tired for no reason. The doctor at this institution started me on treatment, but I had to stop since my body rejected the treatment. What are my options? DR.
D0N0HUE Advice J.W. Answer: Hepatitis is a widespread infection. In the United States, at least 4 million are infected, and in the entire world, 17Q million have it. Nearly 85 percent stay infected with the virus for the rest of their life. Of that number, some 20 percent will come down with liver cirrhosis.
That doesn't happen right away; it takes about 20 years. A smaller percentage 1 percent to 4 percent develop liver cancer. I don't know if your symptoms stem from hepatitis C. Fatigue is a hepatitis symptom, but hepatitis fatigue is usually persist- ent, not like yours. Darker skin and hair loss are not terribly common hepatitis symptoms; yellow skin can be.
The standard treatment for hepatitis is the combination of interferon, given by shot, and ribavirin, given as a tablet or capsule. Headache, nausea and muscle pain sometimes follow interferon treatment. Nielsen was a lad, has four anchors, three of them female. Roberts, 45, no stranger to the boys' club from her years at ESPN, acknowledges that more eyebrows will be raised over two female anchors than over two males. "With as many inroads as women have made, it's still seen differently. Right, wrong or indifferent, a lot of people can't get past how they've been raised. It's how we are as a society.
We still have a ways to go." Still, Roberts says she was shocked by her own reaction when she was first approached to fill in for Gibson, 64, now the full-time solo anchor of "World News Tonight." "I said, 'No way. Two women don't do too, bought into the whole man-woman model. Then I caught myself going, 'Huh? What am I doing? What's the big I love doing the show with Diane. We're good together. People like us." Not that Roberts advocates an all-girl lineup, like Barbara Walters' ABC daytime chickfest, "The View." "'GMA' needs men to provide a male perspective, she says.
"The View5 is wonderful, and it has its own unique style and they knock it out of the park, but I don't think people necessarily want to see that from us. They want to see male points of view. They want to see the guy. I'm not offended by that. I love all perspectives." "Today" executive producer Jim Bell says having a male and female provides a broader range of experience, but sees nothing wrong with two women anchors "if they're the right two women.
